ANDRE 'ONDI' MARSAUS
Ondi, often referred to as ‘the surfing Wiki’, and known for his passion for retro boards, has been featured in numerous publications with his expansive collection and knowledge on vintage surfboards.
A Noosa local since the late 80’s, Ondi created thousands of exquisite meals as Executive Chef of high-end restaurants, leaving for short periods of time throughout the years to open restaurants in Melbourne and Tasmania and cook for dignitaries and members of the royal family.
A true professional at anything he turns his hand to, Ondi’s sporting achievements include motorcross racing and racing and managing in the Australian Super Bike Series; racing Grand Prix machinery, super bikes and super sport.
Ondi now focuses on producing high quality Australian made surfboards and matching surfers with the right board for their level. Popular with the locals, tourists and backpackers, his focus is on matching the right board with the right surfer whether they are professional or new to the game. His genuine advice and great knowledge of surfboards has helped thousands of people over the years and allows him to talk all day about his favourite topic.
Ondi’s partner Maree O’Connor joins him as co-founder of Underground. No stranger to building popular businesses, Maree opened her own advertising agency at the age of 26 and was anonymously nominated and accepted for inclusion in the Who’s Who of Women in Australia publication and later the Who’s Who of Women in the World. Maree was put forward for numerous awards over the years including the Telstra Business Woman of the Year but politely (and gratefully) declined.
Maree has sat as a Director on various state, national and international Boards and has been awarded a number of Certificates of Appreciation from the likes of the ACT Chief of Police.
Maree's passion for Underground Surf and the surfing lifestyle enables her to work on a business she loves and be part of the joy the surfers get when they walk out with a new board.
